Feeds — Dead Parrot BBS

Dead Parrot believes the open web should still talk to itself. The board publishes its message activity to standard, subscribe-anywhere feeds — so you can follow along from your feed reader or twtxt client without logging in. (And from inside the BBS, the doors-and-menus side carries an inbound twtxt "wire" that reads other people's feeds back to you.)

twtxt is a dead-simple, decentralised microblog format: one plain-text file, one post per line. Follow the board's feed by pointing any twtxt client at:

$ twtxt follow deadparrot https://deadparrotbbs.com/twtxt.txt

RSS

Prefer a feed reader? The board exposes RSS 2.0. The firehose carries every public message across all boards:

RSS: deadparrotbbs.com/rss/firehose.xml

Each board also has its own feed at deadparrotbbs.com/rss/<board>.xml. For example, the Introductions board:

Note: a feed is created the first time there's activity to put in it — so a board's RSS file appears once its first message is posted. New boards will show up here as the community grows.
